Orchid Rhyncholaeliocattleya Star of Siam ‘Apricot Glow’

Rhyncholaeliocattleya Star of Siam ‘Apricot Glow’ is a Cattleya alliance hybrid created by crossing Rhyncholaeliocattleya Pattaya Magic with Cattleya Tainan City, a Thai-bred grex known for its fiery, warm-toned blooms. The ‘Apricot Glow’ selection is a particular standout, with incredible orange sepals and petals paired with a dramatic, full lip with butter-yellow center giving way to burnt crimson edging, all carried on heavy substance with a glistening texture.  Like others in the Star of Siam grex, it displays the broad, ruffled petals and prominent, captivating lip typical of this cross, with the contrasting lip colors set dramatically against the dominant orange tones for an overall fiery, star-like effect.  As with most Cattleya alliance hybrids, it grows best with bright light, intermediate-to-warm temperatures, good airflow, and a drying period between waterings to support strong, heavy-textured blooms.
