Oxalis triangularis Pink Variegated is a compact bulbous perennial native to Brazil, belonging to the wood sorrel family Oxalidaceae. Its triangular leaves display deep purple coloring with distinctive pink variegation, resembling the wings of a butterfly, making it a rarer and more sought-after selection than the standard species. The leaves are photophilic, opening wide during daylight and folding closed at night… a natural phenomenon known as nyctinasty… and the plant produces delicate five-petaled flowers in white, pink, or lavender hues on slender stems above the foliage during the growing season. It grows best in bright, indirect light and in a well-draining, lightly moist soil mix and benefits from a reduced-watering dormancy period to allow the bulbs to rest between growing cycles.
At Sunset Tropicals, we source plants from trusted tissue culture laboratories, specialty growers, and respected collectors to bring unique and desirable plants to hobbyists and collectors. We are a small, family-owned, fully licensed Florida nursery dedicated to providing accurately identified plants and exceptional customer service.
This listing is for tissue culture (TC) plants shipped in-vitro within their original sterile culture media. Plants are grown in a laboratory environment on nutrient-rich agar and have not yet been acclimated to greenhouse or household growing conditions.
