Vanda Pintuwadee ‘Miss Coco Chanel’ AM/AOS is a cultivar of the grex Vanda Pintuwadee (Vanda Adisak Happiness × Vanda Kulwadee Fragrance), registered by Phuttaraksa’s Suandokmai Orchids in 2020, part of the celebrated Thai strap-leaf Vanda breeding line built primarily on Vanda sanderiana (about 58%), Vanda coerulea (about 21%), and Vanda dearei (about 9%) ancestry, a pedigree that typically delivers the large, rounded, richly patterned flowers and strong sun-tolerance these hybrids are prized for; the ‘Miss Coco Chanel’ clone earned an Award of Merit from the American Orchid Society, recognizing superior flower form, color, and substance, and like other modern Thai Vanda hybrids it’s a vigorous, warm-growing monopodial epiphyte best suited to bright light, high humidity, excellent air movement, and hot days with cooler nights, typically grown mounted or basketed in open, fast-draining media to accommodate its thick aerial roots.
