Anthurium sp. 'Napo' is a velvet-leaved Anthurium named for Napo Province in Ecuador. The "sp." means it has not been matched to a formally described species. Collectors know it for dark, heart-shaped leaves with contrasting veins.
'Dark Phoenix' appeared in the Southeast Asian plant trade around 2020. It was first sold as a hybrid of A. papillilaminum, but many growers now think it is a dark selection of A. papillilaminum itself. It has no formal registration. 'Red Vein' refers to a selection with red-toned veins and midribs.
This plant is a cross of the two. Both parents are velvet-type Anthuriums, so expect dark, matte foliage. Seedlings from a hybrid cross vary in leaf shape, vein color and new-leaf color.
