Anthurium diabolense is one of the newest discoveries in the aroid world, formally described as a new species in 2022 by botanists Vannini, Croat, and Castillo-Montoya. Native to the tropical rainforests of Guatemala and Belize, it takes its name from its type locality near Los Cayos del Diablo on Guatemala’s Caribbean coast. It belongs to section Andiphilum, the same prestigious group as clarinervium. Very unique foliage with its arrow-shaped, glossy leaves that shift from soft mint to cool grayish-green, with beautifully curved veins that create a bold, textured surface across the entire blade. Exceptionally robust by nature, these leaves reflect the plant’s adaptation to the rugged conditions of its native habitat, making this both a stunning collector’s piece and a genuinely resilient grower.
