Anthurium carlablackiae OG1x5 × cerrocampanense is a seed grown hybrid bred by Justin Gurski of Fuzzy Petioles, sourced through IAS auction in September 2026. The seed parent is a heavier veined ecotype of Anthurium carlablackiae, originally bred by our Miami neighbor and friend Scott Cohen and later passed to Justin by Enid Offolter of NSE Tropicals. Most collectors favor carlablackiae's typical thin veined, muted form, but this louder veined ecotype has already produced standout hybrids in its own right. The pollen parent, Anthurium cerrocampanense, is one of the few waxy leaved members of section Cardiolonchium, native to clay rich terrestrial habitat around Panama's Cerro Campana, known for its round, dinner plate shaped leaves and a fragrant, pollen heavy spadix. This cross pairs carlablackiae's bold venation against cerrocampanense's waxy, rounded form, and individual seedlings can be expected to favor one parent's traits over the other as they mature.
