The pollen parent combines 'Tezula Soul Reaper,' a papillilaminum line bred by grower Tezula from Jay Vannini's RL × FS select form (referencing specific wild collected locality parents), with Sam's Red, a richly colored papillilaminum selection prized for its dark red new growth. As a young seedling, this cross is already showing the deep coloration and thick, glossy texture inherited from both sides of the pairing, with leaves emerging in warm olive green before the darker red and burgundy tones typical of its parentage develop with maturity.
